Meeting Cancellation Policy - If the Prince William County Schools System cancels or delays the opening of the schools then the Gainesville-Haymarket Rotary club will NOT have the meeting. You can call the Prince William County school public information line (703) 791-2776 after 5:30 AM for school status.



October 26, 2011 - Rotary club's weekly meeting

Club Assembly - Board members reviewed the club's accomplishments for the 3rd quarter of 2011 and shared their plans for the next quarter and beyond. Board members wish to thank all club members for their hard work, generosity, and constant support of our community.



October 19, 2011 - Rotary club's weekly meeting

  • Past President John Grzejka filled in for current President Amelia Stansell. Thank you John.
  • Club member Jim Miller gave us an informative classification talk so we can learn more about Jim, his vocation, his family, and his interests. Jim also gave a brief report on the recent Children's Wellness Festival. Thank you, Jim.




October 15, 2011 - Children's Wellness Festival

The Children's Wellness Festival was held on Saturday, October 15, 2011 from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM at Metz Middle School - 9950 Wellington Rd. in Manassas, VA. Thank you very much for your participation.

October 12, 2011 - Rotary club's weekly meeting

  • The Rotary club welcomed our current District Governor Jon Allan, District First Lady Mary Allan, and Assistant District Governor Victor Evans to our club's weekly meeting. The District Governor briefed us on his vision for our Rotary District 7610.
  • District Governor Jon Allan also inducted our newest member, Rick Ferry, into our club and then presented a prestigious Paul Harris Fellow (PHF) award to Bill Schaeffer, father of our current Club President Amelia Stansell.
  • Thank you District Governor, District First Lady, and Assistant District Governor. Congratulations to Rick and to Bill.

October 5, 2011 - Rotary club's weekly meeting

  • Club President Amelia Stansell reported that the club has received a District Simplified Grant of $650 to be applied for the PACE West ropes course.
  • Club Vice President Jim Aram brought in 14 boxes of the Children Wellness Festival flyers to be delivered to schools on the Western end of the Prince William county.
  • Nicole Negvesky encouraged club members to talk to businesses and organizations to get their sponsorships for the upcoming Inaugural Night Golf tournament.
  • Our guest speaker Victor Evans, PW county's program manager for the Comprehensive Sevice Act (CSA), came to talk to us about the at-risk youth and family services available in Prince William county, VA. Victor is also our current Rotary District Assistant Gorvenor. Thank you, Victor.
