    President’s Message

My Fellow Rotarians, (that sounds like something Richard Nixon would have said) A new Rotary year is upon us...the key word being "new". We will have new International leadership, District leadership and our own Club leadership. That's where your new Board and I come in. You have some very enthusiastic, relatively new members who will be serving you for the next year. We all look forward to the opportunity to continue taking this Club to even higher levels than Taras, John and Dennis paved for us. Your board and I met recently to discuss long term strategic plans and goals for the Club. It was a very lengthy but productive meeting more of which we will share with you in the near future. Each Board member will brief you on the duties, responsibilities and goals of his/her position on the Board. I have two main goals that are basic to the smooth operation of any organization:

    1. Membership 2. Participation

By increasing membership, it spreads the wealth (no pun intended) and the work load. I want to make sure we don't fall into the 80/20 club habit. BUT, with new members comes our responsibility to keep you new folks interested by getting you active (the other point...participation) in all sorts of projects with the Club.

With increased membership comes increased funding. With increased funding comes the opportunity to expand our service to the community and internationally...a wonderful cycle in which to find ourselves.

With you help, input and enthusiasm, we can make this a banner year for the Rotary Club of Gainesville-Haymarket. The Board and I look forward to serving you.

GH-Rotary Presents Token of Appreciation to Missy.

President Dennis Fargo presented Piedmont employee Missy with flowers and a gift certificate in appreciation for all of her hard work in setting up our breakfast each week for our meeting. Thanks Missy for all you do to make our breakfast meetings run smoothly and for the delicious buffet breakfasts!
