GH-Rotary Members Work on Childrens Wellness Festival Flyers.

A large group of our members stayed after our meeting last week to collate flyers for the upcoming Children's Wellness Festival. With the number of people that we had helping, we managed to get all of them separated in groups of 25 in about 45 minutes time. Not only that, it was a great opportunity for fellowship - there was a lot of friendly banter around the tables (making counting difficult at times!!!). We do great things when we come together to work for a good cause!

TODAY'S PROGRAM

Jim Aram - Classification Talk

Today we will learn more about Jim Aram, who recently joined our club and what brought him to Rotary. Jim is the Administrator and Co-owner of Advantage Physical Therapy & Rehabilitation, LLC. He lives in Bristow with his wife Amy and their two young daughters.

LAST WEEK'S PROGRAM

Eric Latham, Walk About America

Eric gave us a very moving and inspiring slide show presentation about his experience walking across the country to raise awareness and funding for cancer research. His walk from Nags Head, North Carolina to San Francisco raised over $21,000 for cancer research. He tells the story of his journey in his book, "Take Steps with a Purpose: A Walk About America for Cancer Research", which he had for sale after the meeting. Eric said that the best part of his experience was meeting cancer patients and their families along the way, and getting to talk to them about their experience. His presentation was a mix of humor and stories that brought tears to your eyes. Eric is currently organizing a walk to the White House that will raise awareness of Rotary and funding for the Rotary Foundation. We are so lucky to have Eric as a member of our club.

Excellence is the result of:
  • caring more than others think wise
  • risking more than others think is safe
  • dreaming more than others think is practical
  • and expecting more than others think is possible
