Russell Tuck, Rotary Foundation 101 Briefing

Dr. Russell Tuck, PHF, is the Rotary Club of Gainesville-Haymarket's Foundation Chairman for 2008-2009. Russ is a retired President of California Baptist University, where he was also a member of the Rotary Club of Riverside, Calif. Russ is a founder of this Rotary Club.

David Crandall, PHF+2, is assisting. David is the Club's past Foundation Advisor and former President of the Rotary Club of West Springfield. David joined this Club in its early months.

This week also introduces the new Rotary Foundation Giving Thermometer, pictured here, which will give our members a weekly update on our club's status in our goal to reach $3300 in Rotary Foundation Giving for this year ($100 per club member x 33 active members.)

Charlie Mills, Children's Wellness Festival Update

Charlie gave us an update on the 2nd annual Children's Wellness Festival, which is being held on September 27, from 11am to 3pm at Metz Middle School in Manassas. We got a chance to see his taped interview which was broadcast on Comcast Newmakers and heard the latest developmments and continued growth of the program, including the additional support of two more local dentists and scoliosis screening being performed by our own Rotary Club member, Doug Obetz.
